Commercial Construction Methods

We have developed construction methods based on our years of experience in both residential and commercial pool construction. We design and build pools that exceed current health and building codes.

Construction administration is carefully executed to assure that the aquatic facility is constructed using the specified means, methods and materials to assure the highest quality product. Our startup and owner training procedures are incorporated into the construction specifications to provide assurance that the facility meets all engineering requirements and provides for a comprehensive owner training and orientation prior to turn over to the owner. Immediately upon completion of a project, we provide the owner with a set of "as built" drawings; a copy of which are permanently archived at Westport Pools headquarters.

There are certain components of pool construction that we will never subcontract out to others. The pool shell and the plumbing are the most important parts of the project and we insist on maintaining control and having our highly trained workers do this work. There are some parts of the project that we do subcontract out such as electric and concrete decks.

Before any shovel hits the ground we hold a pre-construction meeting with our customer and emphasize that they will have a lead person on their project with a minimum of 10 years experience.

Using hydraulic calculations and sophisticated engineering, we design mechanical systems that are specific to each project resulting in equipment sizing that is tailored to the exact needs of the pool.

We only build concrete pools using the shotcrete method which allows for greater creativity in design as well as enhanced stability and structural integrity.
